Cheer up, Buckaroos (You too, Knuck)

All is not yet lost.

“We’re not going to have stability in Iraq until we eliminate those militias, those private armies,” Reyes said. “We have to consider the need for additional troops to be in Iraq, to take out the militias and stabilize Iraq … We certainly can’t leave Iraq and run the risk that it becomes [like] Afghanistan” was before the 2001 invasion by the United States…
---Rep. Silvestre Reyes, the new chair of the House Intelligence Committee.

There could be attempts to discredit him, but that might kinda sorta put the Democrats in a difficult position vs the tejanos. Not to mention that he is a Vietnam vet. Maybe we'll get to see how those moderate and conservative Democrats who were elected last month play their cards if a debate breaks out.

I am not surprised. The blue Democrats are not like Lamont. I think that Lieberman winning that election will have real impact on the direction the party goes here. They will say they want the troops out {don't we all?} but there will be certain preconditions. I think that when push comes to shove they do not want to blamed for the chaos that would ensue. And besides, like it or not the Democrats voted this thing too.

Just when all was not lost, some is maybe is--

And, too, it's not really "corruption" unless you disapprove of it (advantage: "Democrats").

I dunno, guys --- one person may not be able to do much to make them do the right things, but one or a few can make it much harder to do wrong things.

Come to think of it, that could be the underlying principal of democracy.

C'mon, Knuck. I fully expect to see as many honest Dems out there swinging away as we see moderate muslims making their voices heard. We all know there are just scads and scads of them, right?

I bet you don't even clap for Tinkerbelle. Well, I'm off to feed the unicorns and then I'm going to finish my letter to Santa.

Just remember, honest Dems are as common as leprechauns. They're just very, very shy.

Rick, have you spoken to anyone about this depression?

I'm positive all will be better as soon as my cheerleader's burkha arrives. Just wait and see.

Oh, great, now that my leotard years are a little behind me.

Iraq is the only muslim country with a woman's team in the Asia games.

See!!

If that doesn't give you the warm fuzzies all over, nothing will. One out of more than fifty. There's true progress for you.

Let's hope that some of the team members live 'til the next competition - that'll show 'em.

GO ISLAM!!!

Uh, Rick? One out of fifty is one more than zero out of fifty.
